Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves in the use of a stainless-steel device made of fine needles. The tiny needles make microscopic channels in the dermis, triggering the body’s healing response to kick-start production of new collagen and elastin, plumping up the skin. It stimulates blood circulation and collagen production by over 1000%. Collagen is a protein that gives our skin structure, working like a netting to hold skin cells together. The new collagen will last for several years, which is why microneedling is considered a very long-lasting treatment. Microneedling can also dramatically increase the absorption of your skincare products. Up to 80% of a product can penetrate skin after microneedling compared to a mere 7% with normal application on intact skin.

Here are some frequently asked questions –
Is skin needling safe?
Skin needling does not involve injections and therefore allergic reactions and side effects are unlikely. It is minimally invasive, involves minimum downtime, rapid healing and requires simple aftercare.
How will my skin look after the treatment?
After the procedure, your skin will appear red and flushed in appearance in a similar way to moderate sunburn. Your skin will appear tight and mildly sensitive to touch. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following the treatment and within the next 24 hrs, skin will be completely healed. After 3 days there should be barely any evidence that the procedure has taken place. It is common to experience itching, tightness and slight peeling following the treatment.
How many treatments should I get?
We recommend one session every 2 weeks for 6 weeks for maximum results. Collagen induction requires at least 3 treatments, while scar reduction requires between 3 and 6. Usually results begin to appear after the first session.
